Jeff Davis, Vidalia, Bacon advance

Three Region 2-AA softball teams advanced to the second round of the Class AA State Tournament last week as Toombs County was the only region team eliminated.
Toombs fell to Harlem 12-2, 13-0. No. 3 seed Jeff Davis defeated Screven County 9-1, 8-0, No. 1 seed Vidalia rolled over Westside, Augusta 11-0, 20-0 and Bacon County ousted Jefferson County 12-4, 14-5.
This week, the Lady Jackets host Monticello in a game scheduled for today (Wednesday) as Tuesday’s matchup was rained out. Vidalia hosts Union County and Bacon travels to Banks County.
The winners of this week’s games advance to the state finals Oct. 24-26 in Columbus.
