Grand Jury returns five indictments

The Jeff Davis County Grand Jury last week returned five indictments last week.
Joshua David McNeal was indicted on three counts of burglary in the first degree. He is accused of entering a home on Bridgeford Church Road, a home on Yawn Road, and another home on Yawn Road between April 20 and May 9.
The jury indicted Frances Ann Deen on two charges of obstruction of an officer, a charge of unlawful acts of violence and a charge of interference with government property. She is accused of, on May 26, while confined in the Jeff Davis County Detention Center, kicking a door, throwing water in the cell and at detention officers and making threatening statements. She is also accused of kicking a jailer and throwing toilet water at another jailer, and damaging the floor of a cell by stuffing her pants into the toilet, causing the cell to flood.
Hugh Lynwood Riner was accused of two counts of aggravated assault. He is alleged to have, on Feb. 25, chased a man and made attempts to hit him with an 18-inch galvanized pipe, and driving through the yard and trying to run over the victim with a white Chevrolet van.
In a separate indictment, Riner was charged with child molestation and two counts of cruelty to children in the second degree. He is accused of asking a child under the age of 16 to see the panties she was wearing, and then tried to commit child molestation. He was also accused of placing a video device in the child’s bedroom.
Brandi Rowland was indicted on a charge of arson in the third degree. She is charged with damaging a Ford pickup truck with fire on June 4.
