Statistics Tell The Story

Jeff Davis High’s football team amassed 280 yards of offense in its 7-0 win over Brantley County while holding the Herons to 158 yards.
The Jackets rushed for 255 yards and gained 25 through the air.
Aahiyus Allen rushed for 91 yards on 13 carries and scored the Jackets’ lone touchdown. Austin Wood ran 16 times for 75 yards and Jashaun Kirby had 16 carries for 54 yards.
Cade Walters led the defense with eight solo tackles, two assists and four pass break-ups.
The Jacket defense gave up 150 rushing yards and eight passing yards.
For the season, the Jacket offense is averaging 293 yards rushing per game and 62 passing for 355 yards of offense per game.
Allen leads the rushing with 45 carries for 375 yards and four TDs. Bradley Owens has 21 carries for 246 yards and three touchdowns, Wood has run 30 times for 203 yards and two scores, Kirby has 174 yards on 28 carries and Tre Chandler has 23 carries for 86 yards and two touchdowns.
Britt Metts is 21-for-31 passing for 250 yards and five touchdowns.
Greg Chambers is the leading receiver with seven catches for 80 yards, Michael Dotson has three catches for 77 yards and a score, and Matthew Glass has two catches for 25 yards and two touchdowns.
The Jacket defense is giving up an average of 170 yards per game, 130 on the ground and 40 through the air.
Caleb Parlor leads the defensive stats with 22 solo tackles, 10 assists, three tackles for losses and a pass interception.
This week the Jackets host 0-4 Bacon County in the JDHS Homecoming game.
The Raiders opened the season with a 46-3 loss to Fitzgerald in Fitzgerald, fell 50-0 to Pierce County at home, lost 44-26 to Berrien County in Nashville and lost 42-10 to Telfair County in Alma.
