Thanks To Emergency Personnel — By Tommy Purser

It looks like we’ll be spared extremely bad weather from Hurricane Dorian. I stopped by the local Emergency Management Agency office Tuesday to get an update on what to expect and my friend David Miller jokingly asked me to put something good in the paper about them — meaning the emergency responders of which David is one of many. So here goes:

The men and women who look after our well-being when inclement weather or any other emergency pops up don’t get enough thank-yous for the role they play in our lives. I’ve been to several preparation meetings in the past and I was comforted seeing that our protectors know what they’re doing, they love what they do, and they work tirelessly to protect us. And they are on the alert for us all.

We all thank them for what they do.
