Pellet Plant Announces $40 Million Upgrade

When Hazlehurst Wood Pellets started in 2012, Fram Renewable Fuels contracted with Astec Industries to design, engineer, install and finance the construction of the Hazlehurst pellet plant.
Fram began to experience engineering issues soon after they began the processing of pellets in 2013 at the Hazlehurst plant. Fram recently concluded its agreement with Astec and plans to spend over $40 million on upgrades.
“This new investment will allow us to ensure the plant will run more smoothly so that we can provide our customers with the best possible product,” states Harold Arnold, Fram CEO. “This project will also hopefully allow us to employ more people and operate the plant at maximum capacity.”
Arnold says the project will likely be complete in the second quarter of 2020.
