Services for Mrs. Yvette Katrina Myles, 58, who died July 4, were held July 13, at Empact Church of Hazlehurst.
Minister Terrell Torres and Pastor James Earl Cray officiated with burial in Northview Cemetery in Hazlehurst.
Mrs. Myles, daughter of the late Yvonne Chambers and J.D. Horned, joined Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. She attended Elizabeth High School in Elizabeth, New Jersey. After high school, Katrina enlisted in the United State Army and served six years of active duty at Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, D.C. After her tenure in the military she returned to Hazlehurst. She later joined Empact Church where she rededicated her life to Christ. She served faithfully as an active member at Empact Church until her health declined. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Tammy Plummer; and grandson, Keanan Thomas.
Survivors include her husband, Wilbert Myles of Hazlehurst; daughters, Ebony Roby and Pricilla Roby, both of Hazlehurst; special nephew, Javonnie Whitfield of Broxton; grandchildren, Khaliyah Jenkins, Kamariyah Robinson, Deyauntae Thomas, Lakeanan Jenkins, Kamariyah Robinson, M’Kariyah Robinson and Kaleb Tobler, all of Hazlehurst; three sisters, Andrea Thomas (Peter) of Broxton, Natalie Madrid of Atlanta and Whitney Hendricks of Fort Myers, FL; brother, Erick Horne of Penny Farm, FL; stepfather, Kenneth Henry of Baxley; stepsister: Tammy Hill of Baxley; three Godchildren, Nicole Thomas of Alam, Ervin Williams and Teyonna Streeter, both of Hazlehurst and a host of relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers were Stacy Chambers, Roosevelt Hood, Jurell Knox, Larry McNeal, Michael Dotson, Quinton Smith, Deyauritae Thomas, and Lakeanan Jenkins.
Honorary pallbearers were Kiearie Parker, Landon Streeter, Matthew Trinque, Jarrod Trinque, Zachary Mitchell, Telly Bennett, Keith Plummer, Kruz Rumph, and Keon Plummer.
Music was provided by The Chambers Family, Alvin Tobler, and Khaliyah Jenkins.
Thornton’s Funeral Home of Hazlehurst was in charge of arrangements.
