Tennis girls fall to Bleckley County

Jeff Davis High’s girls tennis team had its hopes for a state title dashed last week in the Georgia High School Association’s Final Four as the Lady Jackets fell to Bleckley County 3-0.
Bleckley County went on to defeat Berrien County for the state championship, also by a score of 3-0. Berrien had defeated Rockmart 3-1 to set up an all-south Georgia finals.
The Lady Jackets, the Region 2-AA champions, got to the tournament semifinals by defeating Dublin, Fitzgerald and Armuchee.
