Girls Advance To Elite 8

Jeff Davis High School’s girls tennis team advanced to the Elite 8 in the 2019 Georgia High School Association state playoffs.
The JD boys, however, were eliminated from play 3-0 by Early County in the second round. The Jackets opened the playoffs with a 3-0 victory over East Laurens.
The Lady Jackets opened playoff play with a 4-1 win over Dublin and then topped Fitzgerald 3-0.
Jeff Davis will host the third round, facing Armuchee, the No. 2 seed from Region 7-AA. Armuchee defeated Therrell 5-0 in the first round and then downed No. 1 seeded Banks County, 3-2.
In other quarterfinals play, Bremen will host Bleckley County, Rocmart will host Dodge County and Model travels to berries County.
