JD Girls Tennis Seeded No. 1
Jeff Davis High’s girls tennis team ran roughshod through their opposition in Region 2-AA to capture the No. 1 Seed in the region tournament.
The boys have also had an excellent season and are seeded No. 2.
On March 26, the JDHS girls hosted the first round of Region against Toombs County and came away with a 5-0 win.
The next day, both the boys and girls faced Dodge County in non-region play with the girls winning 3-2 and the boys falling 1-4.
March 28, the boys hosted their first round of the region playoffs and came away with an easy, 5-0 win over Bryan County.
The region championship matches were to be played in Alma Monday and Tuesday this week but rain forced a cancellation and the matches are scheduled for Thursday. Play begins at 10 a.m.
On March 25, Jeff Davis Middle School traveled to Dublin to play. The girls won 5-0 and the boys won 3-2.
On April 8 the middle school tennis teams were to travel to West Laurens and then host Vidalia April 9t and East Laurens on April 11 at 4 p.m.
