Mr. Alton Kersey, 78

Mr. Alton Kersey, 78, of Hazlehurst, died Feb. 18 at Jeff Davis Hospital.
Mr. Kersey was born Feb. 18, 1941, in Jeff Davis County to the late Elige Kersey and the late Katie Merchant Kersey.
He was retired from Hazlehurst Mills and a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Carol Waters Kersey.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Mark Carter of Hazlehurst; brother, Wendell Branch (Elouise) of Reidsville; granddaughter, Molly Carter; grandson, Mark Carter; several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Feb. 20 in the chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith Yawn officiating. Interment followed in Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Wayne Crosby, Brad Leggett, Wadis Davis, Greg Ussery, Scott Worth, and Victor Worth.
Musical selections were rendered by Jessica Meadows.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
