Region Basketball Tournament Underway

Woodville-Tompkins girls basketball team snapped Bryan County’s 22-game unbeaten streak last Tuesday in Savannah as the Lady Wolverines took a 59-53 victory over the visiting Lady Redskins.
The Region 2-AA basketball tournament got underway this week. All games are played at Vidalia High School.
Bryan County’s No. 1 girls and Swainsboro’s No. 2 girls earned byes to Friday’s semifinal round.
Yesterday (Tuesday) No. 5 Jeff Davis played No. 8 Metter at 7 p.m. The No. 6 Toombs girls played No. 7 St. Vincent’s at four.
Today (Wednesday), Woodville-Tompkins plays the winner of the Toombs-SVA game at 4 p.m. and Vidalia meets the Jeff Davis-Metter winner at 7.
The winner of the 4 p.m. game advances to face Swainsboro Friday at 4, and the winner of the 7 p.m. game advances to take on Bryan County at 7.
On the boys side, No. 1 Woodville-Tompkins and No. 2 Vidalia received byes to Friday’s semifinals.
Yesterday (Tuesday), No. 5 Jeff Davis played No. 8 Bryan County and No. 6 Toombs met No. 7 Bacon. Today (Wednesday) at 5:30 theNo. 3 Swainsboro meets the Toombs-Bacon winner and No. 4 Metter plays the Jeff Davis-Bryan winner at 8:30.
Friday, at 5:30 Vidalia faces the winner of Wednesday’s 5:30 game and Woodville-Tompkins plays at 8:30 against Wednesday’s 8:30 game winner.
