Community Leadership Will Meet

The Hazlehurst-Jeff Davis Chamber and Joint Development Authority will facilitate a gathering of Hazlehurst-Jeff Davis County leaders Feb. 5 at 2 p.m. at The Big House.
Valdosta State University’s Center for South Georgia Regional Impact Executive Director, Darrell Moore, will be guest presenter. Mr. Moore will share available resources for local industry, economic development, health care, workforce development, arts, education, and athletics.
VSU is the first university in the state to exclusively focus on the economic development and success of the 41 counties in this region. Participants will also identify the needs and issues currently facing Hazlehurst and Jeff Davis County directly that partnering with VSU could resolve.
Guests will include representatives from the City of Hazlehurst, Jeff Davis County, City of Denton, Board of Education, Tourism, Development Authority, Arts Council, Family Connection, Recreation Department, Jeff Davis Hospital, Downtown Development Authority, Judicial System, and the Chamber of Commerce.
