It’s Shoebox Packing Time
David and Gail Miller of Because He Lives Ministries remind everyone that it is time to pack your shoeboxes.
Because He Lives Ministries is now a central drop off location which means more shoeboxes will be loaded from Hazlehurst. The goal is to fill up the semi trailer with shoeboxes for needy boys and girls.
From Hazlehurst, these boxes are delivered to the Samaritans Purse processing center in Atlanta. From Atlanta, some will go by air and some by sea to countries all over the world. The children who receive the boxes are the poorest of poor children and for some this shoe box will be the only Christmas gift they will receive. The children that receive a box are also given an opportunity to participate in a 12-week Bible study called the Greatest Journey.
The shoebox brings happiness to the children. But even greater, the Bible study offers hope to the children as they are introduced to God who loves them and wants to help them.
We invite all churches, organizations and individuals to joins thousands of others in packing shoeboxes. It is as easy as 1, 2, and 3.
1-Pray for the child or children who will receive your box or boxes.
2-Pack a shoebox with small gifts, school supplies, and toiletries (no liquids, no food, no candy or gum). Include $9 for shipping.
3-Promote this project by sharing it with others.
The deadline for dropping off shoeboxes is Nov. 19. The shoeboxes will be loaded onto the semi on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 18 at 2 p.m. Everyone is invited to help. Churches are invited to bring their children and youth groups to help.
