Splashpad Work Nears Completion

Officials estimate that the City of Hazlehurst’s new splash pad will be completed in two weeks —— hopefully.
The majority of the work has been completed with several details remaining to be accomplished. Included in the work to be done is electrical hookups for the large pumps necessary to operate the facility, exterior landscaping and esthetic work for the final touches. The pavilions have been erected but the tables have not yet been put in place.
The facility has a large, enclosed, underground reservoir from which water will be pumped and recycled. The water play stations in the interior of the pad are basically completed, covered picnic areas are up and the exterior fencing has been installed.
The grand opening should occur sometime later this month.
