Shoebox deadline

David and Gail Miller of Because He Lives Ministries invite individuals, churches, and other organizations to participate in the shoe box ministry. Operation Christmas Child is a project of Franklin Graham’s Samaritans Purse.
This worldwide endeavor began in 1993 and in 2018, over 10.5 million shoe boxes were collected and delivered to children in need in more than 160 countries. Since 1993, over 168 million shoe boxes have been given to boys and girls all over the world.
To many of the children, a shoe box may be the only gift they will receive for Christmas. After the children receive their shoe boxes, they are given opportunities to go through a 12-week Bible study called The Greatest Journey. In 2018, two million children reported decisions for Christ after going through the study. The shoe box gift brings the children joy, but The Greatest Journey brings hope.
Because He Lives serves as a central drop off location and has a goal of collecting 10,000 shoe boxes for Christmas 2019. Help is needed in meeting the goal. Call David or Gail Miller for more information or visit samaritanspurse.org. Shoe boxes may be dropped off at Because He Lives Ministries in Hazlehurst, First Baptist Church in Baxley, New City Church in Alma, or Carvers Chapel in Douglas and are due by Nov. 25.
