Shoe Box Loading
Nov. 19 is the deadline for turning in Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes.
If you haven’t finished packing the boxes, there is still time.
David and Gail Miller of Because He Lives Ministries encourage you to join thousands of others in packing shoe boxes. Each shoe box equals one boy or girl that will receive joy from a few small gifts.
From Hazlehurst, the boxes are delivered to the Samaritans Purse processing center in Atlanta, and will be sent by air and sea to countries all over the world.
The children who receive the boxes are the poorest of poor children and for some this box will be the first Christmas gift they have ever received. Each child that receives a shoebox is also given an opportunity to participate in a 12-week Bible study called The Greatest Journey. The shoe box brings happiness but greater, the Bible study offers hope to children living in desperate situations.
Because He Lives Ministries will pack and load the shoe boxes onto the semi Nov. 18 at 2 p.m. Everyone is invited to help. Churches are invited to bring their children and youth groups to help.
