Methodist Church Charge Conference

The annual charge conference for Hazlehurst First United Methodist Church and Philadelphia UMC will be Oct. 30 at 6:30, announces the Rev. Scott Brenton, pastor.
Rev. Brenton will preside this year for district superintendent Henry Bass who is recovering from surgery.
Both churches will meet at the Hazlehurst FUMC social hall.
The Book of Discipline of the United Methodist Church requires that a charge conference be held annually to review the mission and ministry of the church, set salaries for the pastor and staff, elect the members of the church council, and recommend candidates for ordained ministry.
Forever Young, the senior adult group, will go to DJ’s Steak and Seafood in Coffee County Nov. 1 at 5:30 for their monthly outing.
