Jimmy Johnson speaks at Friends of Towns Bluff Meeting
The Friends of Towns Bluff Park and Heritage Center in Hazlehurst invite everyone to their meeting, Thursday, Nov. 16. The speaker will be Jimmy Johnson of Baxley.
Mr. Johnson is a member of the Long Pond diaspora and will speak on his family’s connection to the area and the influence of the homeplace on families. Jimmy is a sales representative for Scruggs Concrete of Valdosta and is a 1975 graduate of the University of Georgia’s Grady College. He worked as a newspaper reporter and editor in Savannah and Jacksonville before joining his family’s building material supply business in Baxley. He is married to the former Miriam Eugenia Herndon, a native of Hazlehurst.
