Georgia Great Steak Cookoff

The Chamber of Commerce will host the Georgia Great Steak Cookoff Oct. 27, at Twisted Pine Golf Course. The Chamber is partnering with the Steak Cookoff Association to ensure professional judging.
In addition to the steak cookoff, there will be a category for chicken wings and desserts. The fee for the steak cookoff is $150. Entry into the chicken wing and dessert categories is $25 each.
Team setup is 8-10 a.m. followed by a cook’s meeting and steak selection at 10. Cooks will have their choice of five steaks to cook for the competition. Teams can register online at www.steakcookoffs.com or contact the Chamber to register.
Entertainment will include a cornhole tournament at 1 p.m. followed by the Georgia-Florida game on the big screen at 3:30. Several food vendors will be setup for attendees to enjoy.
Steak dinner tickets will be sold and will be available for dine-in or carryout from 6-7 p.m. Plates will include a ribeye steak, baked potato, green beans, roll and dessert and will be $20 each. Contact the Chamber to purchase tickets.
In the steak cookoff, the grand prize giveaway will be $2,500. Second place will be $1,000 followed by $600 for third place. Fourth place will receive $400 and fifth place will payout $200. Sixth through tenth place will receive $100 each.
In the wings and desserts categories, the payout will be $200 for first place, $100 payout for second place and $50 for third place.
