Federal programs meeting at Board of Education Annex
Parents of Jeff Davis County Schools students and community members are invited to a Federal Programs meeting April 16 at 9 a.m. or 1 p.m. at the annex building, 52 Yellow Jacket Drive.
Federal Programs Director Joyce Davis will review the following Federal Programs available to the students: Title I, Part A; Title I, Part A Parent and Family Engagement; Title I, Part C Education of Migratory Children; Title I School Improvement 1003(a); Title II, Part A Supporting Effective Instruction; Title IX, Part A McKinney-Vento Education for Homeless Children and Youth; Title III, Part A Language Instruction for English Learners & Immigrant Students; Title IV, Part A Student Support and Academic Enrichment; Title V, Part B Rural Education Achievement Program; and The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.
Reviewing and revising the programs while seeking stakeholder input helps the schools implement their standards of excellence. Plans to be reviewed and discussed include: Comprehensive Local Educational Agency Needs Assessment, District Improvement Plan, Parent and Family Engagement Policy, Foster Care Transportation Plan, and Local Identification Recruitment Plan (Migrant). The documents are from the district level and provide guidelines for each school’s plans.
