City of Denton Special Election

Jeff Davis County Election Supervisor Christy Riner this week issued a call for a special election in the City of Denton to fill a vacancy in the office of Council Member At Large.
The election will allow voters to elect a replacement for the council seat held by Jerry Wheeler who resigned in April.
The special election will be held on the same day as the General Election, Nov. 6.
The 3-day qualifying for the special election will be held at the Board of Elections Office, Suite 107, in the Jeff Davis County Courthouse, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 17 and ending at noon Sept. 19.
The qualifying fee is $36.
Denton residents who are not registered to vote may register to vote through the close of business Oct. 9.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Election Day.
