Badges for Life blood drive
Oct. 15 from 3-8 p.m., the Hazlehurst Police Department will host its second annual Badges for Life blood drive.
The OneBlood event, held at the Hazlehurst Police Department on Johnson Street, gives you a chance to help save lives by donating blood.
“The Badges for Life blood drive is a great opportunity to give back to your community,” says local chairperson Jose Zamora of the Hazlehurst Police Department. “With OneBlood being the supplier of blood for our local hospital, now the blood you donate could save your or your loved one’s life.”
All donors will receive a Badges for Life t-shirt and a wellness checkup, including a blood pressure check, an iron count, a temperature check, and a cholesterol screening.
Identification will be required of all donors, all of whom must be at least 16 years old. But note that 16-year-olds must have parental permission. You can donate blood regardless of age if you are in good health.
“I would like to thank Chief Williams and the City of Hazlehurst for allowing us to host the event,” says Zamora. “We look forward to the many years to come for OneBlood to serve our community.”
