American Pride Motorcycle Ride
The Waynesville Historical Society, home of the Confederate Soldiers Park and Mumford Library, will sponsor an American Pride Motorcycle Ride Dec. 8 to raise funds to carry out operations of the Mumford Library for historical research.
The Mumford Library is open Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. for research of ancestors and topics including the civil war and information on local and world history.
The 80-plus mile ride will begin with registration at 9 a.m. at the Nahunta Masonic Lodge on Broome Street along the railroad down from the Knox Hotel. $20 per bike plus $5 for rider. Ride will take off at 10 a.m. and last approximately two hours.
Lunch of homemade soup, chili, cornbread, etc., will be provided after the ride with door prizes, silent auction and a 50-50 raffle.
Individuals and businesses are asked to help with donations. Donations of chili and homemade soup are welcome. Items for raffles and door prizes should be small items that can be placed in a motorcycle saddle bag. Gift cards are awesome. Any contribution is accepted.
