11th Annual Yellow Jacket Duals

The Jeff Davis High School Wrestling Team will host one of the largest dual tournaments in the state this weekend, Dec. 1-2, utilizing the school’s new facility, along with the high school and middle school gyms.
The 11th Annual Yellow Jacket Duals will be made up of 24 varsity teams competing on 10 wrestling mats — six in the high school gym and four in the new auxiliary gym. Wrestling will start Friday at 4 p.m. and again Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
With 24 teams, the 2017 Yellow Jacket Duals is the biggest tournament in program history with approximately 400 wrestlers competing. Over the span of two days 108 dual meets will occur, with each team competing in nine matches.
Saturday, the 3rd Annual JV Stinger Slam will be held on three mats in the middle school gym. The JV tournament will start at 9:30 a.m.
Spectators will be able to purchase a one-day wrist band to go in and out of the gyms with their teams, or a two-day wrist band good for both days.
“We are excited to be able to host again this year,” said Wrestling Coach Chris Davis, “and very thankful for the support of everyone that helps throughout the weekend.”
