Brian Free and Assurance will appear in concert at East Gordon Street Baptist Church in Lyons Aug. 1 at 5 p.m.
The concert is free, only a love offering will be taken up. Doors open at 4 and everyone is invited. For information call 912-245-5335.

Wayne Memorial Hospital will offer the Moderna Covid-19 vaccine to those 18 and older Aug. 6 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in its main conference room.
The public may enter through the front doors of the hospital or the side entry at the cafeteria patio. There is no charge and no need for an appointment. Masks should be worn.
The Moderna vaccine is a two-dose process, with the second dose several weeks later. The hospital is located at 865 South First Street in Jesup.

American Idol runner-up Willie Spence of Douglas will headline an evening of entertainment Aug. 7. Joining Willie will be Deanna Johnson of Hazlehurst, top 10 finalist on The Voice, and the Billy Rigsby Band of Tallahassee, Fla., a rhythm and blues band.
The event will be held at The Cotton Patch Extreme, 495 Towns Bluff Rd. in Hazlehurst beginning at 6 p.m. Tickets are $30 in advance and $40 at the door. Tickets are on sale now; visit www.flintriverblues.org.
Thomas Swain is president of Flint River Blues Inc. and has been in operation since 2017. Swain said, “He is happy to be in Hazlehurst for such a wonderful event and appreciates the support.” The program is a 501C3 event with proceeds to development of blues in Jeff Davis County.
Spectators are asked to being lawn chairs, mosquito repellent and masks. There is a $10 cooler fee, no glass please. For more information call 229-344-9847.

CASA info session

Tri County CASA will host volunteer information sessions for those who want to learn more about becoming a CASA volunteer, or about what a CASA volunteer does. CASA volunteers are trained adults who advocate for children in foster care, so every child can return to a safe, permanent home.
The sessions will be held Aug. 17 at 1 p.m. at Baxley City Hall and Aug. 26 6 p.m. at the Jeff Davis County Library.

Jeff Davis High School will hold its Annual Title I Meeting Aug. 26 at 2:30 pm. This year’s meeting will strictly be held virtually.
