    Methodist Hanging Of The Greens

    2:00 pm-5:00 pm
    Nov-21-21

There will be a hanging of the greens this Sunday at 3 at Hazlehurst First United Methodist Church, says the Rev. Allen Hartsfield, pastor.
During this time members will decorate the inside and outside of the church, social hall and youth center.
This will be in preparation of the four Sundays of Advent which begin the next Sunday.
Also this Sunday is the deadline for the return of shoeboxes for Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child.
Circle IV of United Methodist Women is taking orders for their annual poinsettia sale. They can be purchased to decorate the sanctuary or a business or home. Cost is from $12 to $25.

    Shoebox Loading

    2:00 pm-5:00 pm
    Nov-21-21

David and Gail Miller of Because He Lives Ministries of Hazlehurst are excited about the shoe box season.
Packing shoe boxes is easy and safe. Every box packed represents a child and each child who receives a box has an opportunity to participate in a 12-week Bible study called the Greatest Journey. Through this Bible study, the children are introduced to God and learn that God loves them and God wants to help them.
Now is the time to pack your boxes. Fill them with a variety of new gifts appropriate for the age of child you choose (no toy guns, breakables, liquids or perishables). Add $9 for shipping to each box and drop them off at Because He Lives Ministries. Ready-to-pack shoe boxes are available at the Mission Store at no charge. Churches, schools, clubs, banks, businesses, and other organization are encouraged to help. Sending a gift-filled shoe box to a suffering child somewhere in the world is very rewarding. Knowing you helped a child to have an opportunity to learn about God is a great feeling.
The deadline for dropping off the shoe boxes is Nov. 22. Contact David or Gail Miller at 912-253-0100 or 912-253-6820 for more information. Volunteers are also needed for Nov. 21 from 2 to 5 p.m. to help load the shoe boxes on the semi.
