    Additionally, there will be two Saturday early voting days Oct. 16 and 23 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    The last day to register to vote in the election is Oct. 4.
    Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the Nov. 2 election day. All voting, both early and election, will be at the Jeff Davis County Courthouse.
    The only item on the ballot is whether or not package sales of distilled spirits — scotch, bourbon, rum, vodka and gin among them — will be allowed in the city limits.

    Jeff Davis County Supervisor of Elections Christy Riner this week issued the official call for a special election to allow City of Hazlehurst voters to vote on whether or not to allow package sale of distilled spirits in the city.
    The election is scheduled for Nov. 2 with advance voting set for Oct. 12-29 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Jeff Davis County Courthouse. Two days of Saturday voting have been scheduled of Oct. 16 and 23.
    In their July meeting, the Hazlehurst City Council voted to ask for the election.
