Mr. Charles E. ‘Chuck’ McDuffie, 84
Mr. Charles E. “Chuck” McDuffie, 84, of Stillman Valley, Ill., died May 14 at UW Health after a short illness.
Mr. McDuffie was born June 25, 1941 in McRae. He was a retired welder for Byron Nuclear Plant, Chicago Bridge and Iron and International Tank. After retirement, he enjoyed yard work, keeping the pool maintained, puttering in the garage, and snowplowing for himself and his neighbors.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Marilyn McDuffie; brothers, Tommy McDuffie of Georgia, Eugene McDuffie of Georgia; sister, Betty Jean Baucom (Roy) of Hazlehurst; children, Karen McDuffie of Alabama and Kenneth McDuffie of Georgia; step-children, Jerry Myers (Karen) of Texas, Deana Primrose (Tim) of Byron, Annette Schlichting (Terry) of Stockton, Jodi Shepard (Jim) of Byron, Michelle Manuzza (Joseph) of New York, and Steve Leary of Byron; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed McDuffie and Pearl Padgett McDuffie of Georgia, his wife, Maxine McDuffie of Georgia, his wife, Sadie Capes McDuffie of Stillman Valley, and brother, Larry McDuffie of Georgia.
There will be a private family burial.
