Mr. David Joe Bohannon, 69

Mr. David Joe Bohannon, 69, of Hazlehurst, passed away June 7 at Memorial Health Hospital in Savannah.
Mr. David was born June 30, 1956, in Jeff Davis County to the late Isaac Hiram Bohannon and Lottie Powers Bohannon.
He was known as a simple man who worked hard all his life and would give you the shirt off his back.
In his spare time, he loved drinking his coffee and watching the news.
He was a devoted husband, he enjoyed taking care of the love of his life, Mary.
He loved his wife, his children, and grandchildren dearly, and they held a special place in his heart, but the one that held the strings to his heart was his special little companion “Baby Girl.”
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sisters Wanda Selph, Billie Davis, Willene Varnadore, Elaine Yates, brothers Leland Bohannon, Bobby Bohannon, Ricky Bohannon, Timmy Bohannon, and brother-in-law Timmy (Bones) Rewis.
Survivors include his wife Mary Rewis Bohannon of Hazlehurst; son Terry Glenn Bohannon of Alma; daughters and son-in-law Janet Word of Dublin, and Sherry and Joseph Miller of Uvalda; brother and sister-in-law Roger and Sherry Bohannon of Hazlehurst; sisters Diane Manning, Janice Treat and Judy Bass all of Hazlehurst; brother-in-law Jimmy Rewis of Baxley; sisters-in-law Faye (Stephen) Crews of Hortense and Tammy (Steve) Toler of Alma; grandchildren Rodney, Samantha, Christopher, Angel, Kevin, Brooke, Larry, Jonathan, Ashdyan, Brianna, Tori and Joshua; special niece Lisa Peterson of Hazlehurst; several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; special friends Hilton Toler and Bobby Colter.
Graveside services were held June 12 at Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Manning officiating.
Pallbearers were Greg Taylor, Jonathan Meeks, Josh Ogletree, Charles Ogletree, Liana Kester, Larry Waters, Newly Ray and Rodney Barnes.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
