Ms. Wanda Shuman Banks, 75

Ms. Wanda Shuman Banks, 75, of Folkston, passed away April 15 at Folkston Park Care and Rehab.
Ms. Banks was born July 15, 1950, in Jacksonville, Fla., to the late James Markis Shuman and Lemma Cathrine Farmer Shuman.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Sandy Shuman and nephew Markis Rhoden.
Wanda was Baptist by faith and had a deep love for the Lord. She found joy in simple pleasures, especially drawing and reading, and she had a passion for cooking. She also enjoyed riding horses and spending time outdoors. Above all, Wanda cherished her family and loved them deeply.
Survivors include daughters Kathy Minter (Jimmy) of North Carolina and Elizabeth L. Banks of Jacksonville; sister Janice Shuman Ross (Greg) of Hazlehurst; grandchildren Shelby (Jacob), Coleman (Josie), James Edwards, Travis Owens, Timothy Howell and Nathaniel Murray; great-grandchildren Christopher Edwards and River Edwards; nephew Sean Ian Ross (Kat) of Marietta; brother-in-law Eddie Rhoden of Jacksonville; and dear friend Donna Groves.
A memorial service was held April 20 in the chapel of Wainright Parlor Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Merritt and the Rev. Ronald Cobb officiating.
Music was rendered by Stan Shuman.
Wanda’s family thanks Folkston Park Care and Rehabilitation for the care they provided her in her time there, and to Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home for helping them through their time of loss.
