Blue Team plays for conference championship

The Jeff Davis Middle School Blue Team easily topped Swainsboro in the conference tournament semifinals Monday 20-5. The young Jackets had 19 hits, 10 for extra bases, including 6 home runs as they disposed of Swainsboro in 3 innings.
The Blue Team plays for the conference championship this Thursday at West Laurens Middle School.
Jace Crosby and Justin Torres both had 2 homers, and Anderson Varnadore and Kaleb White also hit round-trippers. Torres had 11 total bases as he went 4-for-4 with a single, a double, 2 homers and 5 RBI. Crosby also went 4-for-4 with 2 singles, 2 homers and 4 RBI.
Varnadore had a double, a single and 3 RBI, Clay Ryals had a single and a triple, Colt Carter had a single, a double and 2 RBI, Karson Morris singled twice, White had a home run and 2 RBI, and Austin Kidd and Jace King both had a single and an RBI.
Torres pitched 2 innings, giving up 2 runs on 2 hits, a walk and 3 strikeouts. Carter pitched an inning, giving up 3 runs on 3 hits, walking none and fanning 2.
