Hutto is a Whitehead candidate

Darrell Hutto announced red this week his candidacy for the Whitehead District seat on the Jeff Davis County Commission.
In making his announcement, Hutto said, “After much prayer and encouragement from my family and friends, I am proud to announce that I have officially qualified to run for County Commissioner for the Whitehead District in Jeff Davis County.
“The Whitehead District is not just where I live — it’s where I was raised, where I built my life, and where my family continues to work, worship, and raise the next generation. Being a lifelong resident of this district has given me a deep appreciation for the people and the values that make our community strong.
“I am a small business owner, farmer, husband, father, and grandfather, and the values that guide my life are simple: faith, family, hard work, and integrity. My campaign is centered around the belief in faith, family, and fair leadership.
“I grew up attending Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, where many of my family still attend today. My wife and I now worship alongside our children and grandchildren at Hazlehurst Church of God, where our daughter Bethany and her husband, Pastor Hugh Anderson, serve in ministry.
“Throughout my life I have worked in agriculture and small businesses. Through these experiences I have built lifelong friendships and relationships across the Whitehead District and Jeff Davis County. I love this community, and my reputation speaks for itself.
“If elected, I will work to represent the people of the Whitehead District with honesty, conviction, and a commitment to doing the right thing. I believe decisions should be made based on a thorough understanding of the facts and with one important question in mind: How will this affect the people of Jeff Davis County? Not just a certain percentage of people, but all the people.
“I believe our county government should be transparent, fiscally responsible, and focused on supporting the families, farms, and small businesses that keep our community strong. We must also look toward the future and ensure that Jeff Davis County remains a place where families can afford to live, work, and raise their children. Creating opportunities and jobs that make it easier for families to stay here and build their lives is important to me.
“My faith and Christian values guide my life, and I believe in representing everyone with fairness and respect.
“I would truly appreciate your prayers, encouragement, and your vote in the upcoming election. It would be an honor to serve the people of the Whitehead District and all of Jeff Davis County. Together we can keep our community strong for the next generation.
