Commissioner races have a crowded field
There will be a crowded field of candidates for the 2026 elections in Jeff Davis County as six men qualified for two positions on the Jeff Davis County Board of Commissioners.
Incumbent Ocmulgee District (District 5) County Commissioner Vann Wooten drew two opponents — Mike Nester and Greg Sears.
And three men qualified for the Whitehead District (District 4) seat that will be vacated by James Emory Tate, who did not qualify to run again — Darrell Hutto, Jerry Wheeler and Veston Hurley.
All six candidates are running in the Republican Primary.
