Soccer girls continue to roll

This past week Jeff Davis soccer had two matches: Appling County and Berrien County.
The first matchup was on Tuesday at home against Appling County. The girls continued their impressive form taking an 8-0 victory over the Pirates. Alex Arano scored 5 of the 8 goals, while Abby Harper, Mayrani Trejo and Alera Vann scored the other 3.
On the boys side, it was a harder match for them and ultimately fell short and lost the game 2-0.
On Friday, Berrien came to town and the girls had no issues as they won 7-0, with the last 8 minutes not being played due to a lighting delay that took over an hour and half to clear up.
Alex Arano continues to display her goal scoring ability by scoring 5 goals and Carrie Ellen Arnold scoring the other goal.
The boys played at a later kick-off time that did not affect their performance as they got a bounce back win with a score of 6-0.
Manny Chavez and Gabriel Osorio both had two goals, while Fabian Valdelamr and Danny Felix scored one.
After these games, the girls’ record is now 8-0 and the boys’ is 6-2. This upcoming week is a huge week as the teams faced Appling County in Baxley on March 10 and then travel to Thomasville on March 12 for an important region matchup.
