Soccer teams down Sumter

Jeff Davis Soccer took on Sumter County on Friday as their lone game this week. Girls came into this 5-0, while the boys came in as 4-1.
The girls team continued on their amazing form as they defeated Sumter County girls 8-0. Alex Arano scored 3 goals and Abby Harper as well. The two other goals came from Riley Hughes and Abby Williams.
On the boys’ side, the game proved to be more difficult as the regular time result was 3-3, meaning the winner would have to be decided on a penalty shootout. The Yellow Jackets came out on top as Steve Rangel managed to save a shot and Jeff Davis converted all theirs to win the game.
The regular time goal scorers were Konnor Munsayac, Gabriel Osorio, and David Calderon.
These wins moved the girls’ record to 6-0 and the boys to 5-1. Jeff Davis has two games to play next week as they look to continue on their good form. Appling County comes into town March 3 and Berrien County travels to the Pinelands March 6. Girls start at 5 pm, and boys play after the girls for both games.
Come out and support!
