Cold weather continues

Following is a Tuesday morning report from the National Weather Service office in Jacksonville, Fla.
An extended period of very cold temperatures will impact southeast GA and northeast FL through early next week with nightly inland freezes and periods of hard freezes & dangerously cold wind chills.
Friday Night into Saturday Night- There are increasing chances of a local wintry mix (snow/The risk of at least minor impacts from snow with the storm system has increased across portions of inland Southeast GA (30-40%). Minor impacts from snow are highlighted across portions of northeast Florida (potential impact risk < 20%). It is too soon for exact timing details or accumulation amounts, if any. At this time, this looks like a rain/sleet/snow mix event.
Extreme Cold conditions are forecast Sunday morning, with wind chills in the single digits to lower teens. An extended duration of hard freeze events is forecast early next week.
Safety Messaging – Monitor the forecasts from credible sources (weather.gov). Forecasts will change. Plan for an extended duration of very cold temperatures early next week. Practice fire/heat safety.
