Qualifying fees announced

Qualifying fees for the 2026 local elections were announced this week by Jeff Davis County Supervisor of Elections Christy Riner.
The fees are as follows:
County Commissioner District 4 (Whitehead District — now held by James Emory Tate) and District 5 (Ocmulgee District – now held by Jerry Wooten) — $180.
Board of Education District 3 (Blackburn District – now held by Greg Brantley), District 4 (Whitehead District – now held by John Girtman), District 5 (Ocmulgee District – now held by Shannon New), and At Large (now held by Roger Ogilvie) — $126.
State Court Solicitor (now held by Graham Floyd) — $900.
Judge, State Court (now held by Shawn Rowland) — $1,050.
Qualifying begins March 2 at 9 a.m. and ends March 6 at noon.
The General Primary/Nonpartisan General Election will be held May 19 and the General Election will be held Nov. 3.
