Mrs. Jeanne Myers Crawford, 90

Mrs. Jeanne Myers Crawford, 90, of Lumber City, passed away Dec. 17 in North Augusta, S.C.
Mrs. Jeanne was born Nov. 22, 1935, in Gulf Hammock, Fla., to the late James Charles Myers Sr. and Lucile Kitchens Myers. A lifelong resident of Lumber City, she began her career with the United States Postal Service in 1960 and faithfully served her community for over 35 years, retiring as Postmaster. Through her years at the post office, she came to know and love countless people, truly knowing everyone and being known and loved by all.
She was a member of Lumber City Baptist Church and an active member of Lumber City Women’s Club. Jeanne loved fishing and especially enjoyed hosting and attending fish fries with family and friends. A wonderful cook, she was well known for her homemade coleslaw, chocolate cake and fried bologna sandwiches. She enjoyed watching cooking shows, as well as Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Jeanne was the best joke teller and was especially remembered for her birthday cards. She also enjoyed playing games on her iPad and loved to travel.
Above all, Jeanne was the glue that held her family together. She loved her family deeply and her presence, laughter and care will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Jamie Crawford; son Joe Webb Jr.; sister and brother-in-law Patsy and Walter Spivey; brother James C. Myers Jr.; and nephews James C. Myers III and Michael Webb.
Survivors include her daughter Susan Webb Simmons (Eddie) of North Augusta, S.C.; grandchildren Shelby Simmons Wearn (Josh) of Trenton, S.C., and Joseph S. Webb III (Shelby) of Eastman; great-grandchildren Jaxson W. Webb and Lori Jeanne Wearn; step-children Michael Crawford (Andrea) of Hot Springs, Ark., and Jan Fall (Roland) of Perry; nieces and nephews Patrice Branch (Steven), Sheri Ellis (David), Amy Mealing (Henry), Toby Spivey (Lisa), Alicia Harrison, Beth Farrell (Bruce), Crystal Crook (Todd), Benjamin Myers, Nancy Hutchens (Don), Amy Waller and Keith Webb (Mary Lynn); 14 great-nieces and nephews; 14 great-great-nieces and nephews; and numerous other special family members.
Services were held Dec. 20 at Lumber City Baptist Church with the Rev. Ashley Tyree officiating.
Burial followed in Riverside Cemetery in Lumber City.
Active pallbearers were Joe Webb, Josh Wearn, Chris Sammons, Emory Ray, Bobby Brown, Toby Spivey and Kevin Sammons.
Honorary pallbearers were members of Lumber City Women’s Club.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Jeanne’s memory to Lumber City Baptist Church, P.O. Box 297, Lumber City, Georgia, 31549.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
