Mr. Alfred Gerard Brantley, 56

Mr. Alfred Gerard Brantley was born Dec. 2, 1968, in Alston, to the late John Ellis and Margaret Clarice Brantley. He entered into eternal rest Oct. 7 at his home.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, brother Gary Lee Brantley and sister Francis Mae Brantley.
Survivors include his longtime companion Beneva Carswell of Lumber City; children Krissi Brantley of Dallas, Texas, and Alex Brantley of Counce, Tenn.; sisters Sherry Brantley of Alston, Shelver Jean Brantley of Vidalia, Debra Brantley Melvin (James) and Patricia Jones of Savannah; brother John Edward Brantley of Alston; nieces Kima Brantley Ford of Atlanta, Kiara Jones of Jacksonville, Fla., Alicia Brantley of Ailey; special niece Chauner Jones; nephew Montreal Brantley; uncle Ralph (Athena) Brantley of Vidalia; aunts Kate Laney of Lyons, Ruth Peeples of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Lola Wooten of Uvalda, Angeline Brantley of Gainesville, Fla., and Carol Bratley of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; special cousins Michael Brantley, Johnnie Whigham, Arthur Grubbs, Terry Grubbs and Jack Baker; special friends Glenn Jordan and Terry Mincey; and a host of cousins and friends.
The funeral was held Oct. 19 at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, Alston. Burial followed in Charlie Sharpe Sr. Memorial Cemetery, Alston.
King Brothers Funeral Home, Hazlehurst, was in charge.
