Mrs. Dianne Herrington Hughes, 78

Mrs. Dianne Herrington Hughes, 78, of Hazlehurst passed away Sept. 20 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Hughes was born March 23, 1947, in Hazlehurst to the late Otis Ephram Herrington and the late Adra Anna Bryant Herrington. She was a member of Satilla Free Will Baptist Church and was a beautician for 29 years. Mrs. Hughes enjoyed looking at gardening & home décor magazines and using those ideas as she decorated for Christmas and worked in her flower beds. She was an avid bird watcher, but her greatest love was for her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a stepson, Ricky Hughes, and her sisters Inez Spell and Bertha Hinson.
Survivors include her husband Earl A. Hughes of Hazlehurst; daughter Priscilla (Kevin) Waters of Hazlehurst; son Vince (Sonja) Williams of Hazlehurst; grandchildren Christopher Powell, Ansley Hall and Will Waters; and six great-grandchildren.
Services were held Sept. 24 at Satilla Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Smith, the Rev. Tommy Daniels and the Rev. Glynn Stinson officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Kolby Hughes, Billy Hughes Jr., Alex Rentz, Bennie Hughes, Joey Pearce and Benji Pearce.
Honorary pallbearers were Vera Gay, Carol Beecher, Connie Simmons, Linda Aycock, Greg & Janice Ross, Danny Ross, Wade Ross and Steve & Barbara Connell.
Music was rendered by Jeffery Spell, Melissa Rentz and Cecil Nail Jr.
Swain Funeral Home was in charge.
