Mr. Timothy Bohannon, 59

Mr. Timothy Bohannon, 59, of Hazlehurst, passed away Sept. 8 at Tattnall Healthcare Center in Reidsville under the care of Regency SouthernCare Hospice.
He was born Jan. 19, 1966, to the late Isaac Hiram Bohannon and Lottie Powers Bohannon. He was a native and lifelong resident of Jeff Davis County and attended Hazlehurst Church of God of Prophecy/CrossRoads Church. He had a fun-loving personality, with a joke always on hand, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his best friend and sidekick, his beloved dog Bandit. He developed a love for gospel music and reading the Bible. He seldom left home without a pocket full of little Jesus figures that he passed along to everyone he met. He knew Jesus had made a difference in his life and wanted to share with others about his new-found faith. As he faced a hard journey battling cancer, his faith remained strong and he often said, “I am not scared.”
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers Bobby Bohannon, Leland Bohannon and Ricky Bohannon; and sisters Billie Davis, Willene Varnadore, Elaine Yates and Wanda Selph.
Survivors include brothers David (Mary) Bohannon, Roger (Sherry) Bohannon, of Hazlehurst; sisters Dianne Manning, Judy Bass, Janice Treat, all of Hazlehurst; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Sept. 12 at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Manning officiating. Private interment will be held later.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home is in charge.
