Wooten elected vice president of GACD

Georgia Association of Conservation Districts elected Tabatha Wooten of Jeff Davis County as Vice President at their Annual Meeting Aug. 17-19 on Jekyll Island. As Vice- President, Tabatha will assist with leading GACD as they work with federal and state partners of the United States Department of Agriculture and with all 40 Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Districts in the promotion of natural resources conservation.
Tabatha has served as a District Supervisor for the Altamaha Conservation District representing Jeff Davis County since 2007. She operates a bookkeeping and payroll service where she serves clients ranging from agriculture to the medical field.
Tabatha is very active in serving numerous civic and political organizations on the state and local levels. She is a member of the Jeff Davis High School Business Education Advisory Committee, Georgia Young Farmers Association, Jeff Davis County Young Farmers Association, and Jeff Davis County Extension Service Program Development Team. Wooten was recognized in 2006 as the Conservationist of the Year for Jeff Davis County and was the 1998 Georgia Young Farmers Association Outstanding Family Farm of the Year. She most recently served as GACD Treasurer.
She resides in Denton. She has one son, Derick, and his fiancée, Karleigh; daughter, Lauren, and her husband, Brandon Adams; and two grandchildren. She is a member of GracePoint Church.
