Mrs. Dorothy Melinda Hall, 61

Mrs. Dorothy Melinda Hall was born July 25, 1963, in Hazlehurst to the late Hezzie Jr. and Maggie Fredrick. She peacefully passed away March 29 at Memorial Hospital in Savannah after an extended illness.
Dorothy was a proud graduate of Jeff Davis High School, Class of 1982, and attended South Georgia College in Douglas. On March 17, 1988, she married Johnnie Hall, with whom she shared a life of love and devotion.
She dedicated much of her career to serving others, working at Hazlehurst Health and Rehabilitation Center, Hazlehurst Mills, and Walmart in Hazlehurst. Known for her kindness and warm spirit, she touched many lives.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Hezzie and Maggie Fredrick; siblings Henry Newton, Wendy Gail McMillan, Mary Etta Robertson, Wallace Sanders, and Ricky Harmon; in-laws Henry Sr. and Birdie Hall; brother-in-law Henry Hall Jr.; and stepdaughter Marquita Hunt.
Survivors include husband Johnnie Hall; daughter Jasmine Hall; granddaughter Journee Hall; siblings Ruth Fredrick, Wanda Fredrick, Denise (Horace) Wooten, Bobby (Elaine) Fredrick, Michael Fredrick, Eugene (Sandra) Fredrick, Paul (Oprah) Fredrick, Gregory Fredrick, Willie Pearl Chambers, and Elaine Rucker; sister-in-law Linda Faye Hall; grandmother-in-law Minnie Hall; stepson Maurice Hunt; friend Lynette Brantley; and a host of family and friends.
Dorothy’s love, warmth, and strength will continue to shine in the lives she touched.
A memorial service was held April 5 at Thornton’s Funeral Home. Dr. C. Frank Cobb provided words of comfort.
