Southern Pines serving students
Southern Pines College and Career Academy (SPCCA), a technical dual enrollment facility
serving 10th-12th grade students at Appling, Bacon, and Jeff Davis high hchools, is
participating in the Georgia Foundation for Public Education PEACH Education Tax Credit
program to raise funds for innovative projects. SPCCA students who successfully complete
programs receive a technical certificate of credit (TCC) from our postsecondary partner,
Coastal Pines Technical College.
Our first project will be to raise funds to purchase additional diesel engines for our Diesel
Engine Service Technician program. The Diesel Engine Service Technician program at
SPCCA continues to experience significant growth as more students express interest in
developing hands-on mechanical skills in the diesel technology field. To meet the
increasing demand and enhance the educational experience, acquiring additional engines is
essential for providing high school dual enrollment students from Appling, Bacon, and Jeff
Davis counties with practical training in diesel engine repair and diagnostics.
Georgia’s PEACH Education Tax Credit for schools offers assurance to our SPCCA families
and community stakeholders that your PEACH Education Tax Credit contributions will help
advance public education in our communities of Appling, Bacon and Jeff Davis counties. The
funds our community raises – all at dollar-for-dollar tax credit for you, the donor – will go
directly to SPCCA’s projects.
The Georgia Foundation for Public Education (GFPE) exists to support educational
excellence for students in Georgia. GFPE provides simple ways for donors to serve students
in Georgia’s K-12 public school system impactfully by investing in projects and fostering
relationships with donors – all to fund GFPE’s vision of public school excellence. GFPE
collaborations create a better future for the 1.7 million students in Georgia’s public schools,
including those who attend SPCCA.
“The Georgia Foundation for Public Education is dedicated to strengthening our state’s K-
12 public education system,” GFPE Executive Director Paige Buzbee Pushkin said. “We are
thrilled to partner with Southern Pines College and Career Academy to raise funds through
the PEACH Education Tax Credit program to impact innovation and public education in
Appling, Bacon, and Jeff Davis counties directly – local money helping local students is a
win for everyone.”
