Madie Jane Stephens, 74

Madie Jane Stephens was born Aug. 6, 1950, to the parentage of William Stephens and Janie M. Stephens. She attended Jeff Davis County Schools and was a graduate of Jeff Davis High School. She worked numerous of jobs. She loved helping anyone she could and was the star of her family. She attended Bennett Tabernacle Church until her health began to fail. She spent 40 years with the love of her life, John Grady. Her hobbies were cooking, fishing and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Bernard Stephens, Claudex Stephens Dennis, Pearlie May Pickens, Estella Stephens Jones.
She is survived by her children Willie James Underwood and Raylene Underwood (Tim); grandkids Shrekreeta Underwood and Shameika Underwood; great-grandkids Chariarrya Underwood (her gal), Trenton Underwood, Tristain Underwood and TA’Riley Holmes; siblings William Leon Stephens and Mary Ann Banks; nieces Cynthia Stephens, Janice Carter, Jenita Jones, Gorlia Banks, Sabrina Banks, Pamela Chambers, Jackie Jones, Santana Jones, Elizabeth Jones, and Shakita Stephens; nephews Josh Jones, Kelvin Jones, William Leon Stephens, Stanford Stephens, Tyrone Jones, Arnold Stephens, and Jeff Stephens; and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
Services were held April 5 at Bennett Tabernacle Holiness Church with burial in Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery, Hazlehurst.
Kings Brothers Funeral Home and Cremation Services was in charge.
