Mrs. Elver K. Mincey, 84

Mrs. Elver K. Mincey, 84, formerly of Hazlehurst, died Oct. 10 at Winter Haven, Fla., under hospice care.
Born Oct. 19, 1939, in Alapaha, she was the daughter of the late John and Wealthy Knowles.
While living in Florida, she was a registered nurse for Doctor Del and Doctor Eric of Winter Haven before moving to Hazlehurst and working at Appling Convalescent Center in Baxley before retirement.
She was preceded in death by her husband Herbert Mincey, son Matthew Mincey, brothers Doyle Knowles and Perry Knowles, and sisters Jean Daniels, Myrtle Sigmon and Betty Higgins.
Survivors included daughter Judith Folk (Ronald) of Hazlehurst; daughter Sherry Wood of Winter Haven, Fla.; son Herb Mincey of Winter Haven, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held Oct. 27 at 11 a.m. in Lake Alfred, Fla., Lions Club.
