Mrs. Alice Katherine Ripper Johnson, 79

Mrs. Alice Katherine Ripper Johnson, 79, of Hazlehurst, died Aug. 11 at her residence.
She was born on Jan. 20, 1945, in Chicora, Penn.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Dale Ripper and Leeta Katherine Kelly Ripper and her brother, Ross Ripper.
Mrs. Alice always loved working in her yards. She loved pretty flowers and always wanted her yard to look nice for the folks passing by.
She was employed with White Southern (Jerry White) for many years, from keeping books, then that evolved into what she really enjoyed doing, woodworking. Her family said she truly enjoyed being a wife, mother and grandmother, and she took that job very seriously.
She will be sadly missed.
Survivors include her husband, Dewey Wilcox Johnson Jr. of Hazlehurst; daughters Cathy Darlene Hayden of Exeter, New Hampshire, and Melinda Ann Saylor of Brunswick; grandchildren Matthew King, Joel King, Julie Rentz, Forrest Hayden, and Jamie Hayden; and several great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be announced later.
