Girls rec stars win state championship

Jeff Davis Recreation Department’s 17 and under softball team defeated Lanier Lanier County 7-0 in the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association state championship game
Jeff Davis started out strong in the first inning with a triple by Cori Mims, followed by a double from Ava Bohannon to give the Jackets a 1-0 lead. The ladies went on to add a run in the third after Mims doubled to bring in Jazmine Villasenor bringing the lead to 2-0.
Jaqueline Villasenor earned the win for Jeff Davis, giving up 3 hits and 0 runs over 7 innings.
Jeff Davis piled up nine hits in the game. Alera Vann led Jeff Davis with three runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. Cori Mims, Ava Bohannon and Madison Joyce each collected 2 hits for Jeff Davis. The Ladies didn’t commit a single error in the field.
