Twenty games into the 2024 baseball season, Carter Mullis, Jude Worthington and Colby Beach lead the Jeff Davis High Yellow Jackets at the plate.
Mullis is batting .389 with five extra-base hits, including two homers. He has 17 RBI which ties him with senior Duke Stone.
Beach and Worthington have far less plate appearances than Mullis (67 for Mullis, 19 for Beach and 27 for Worthington) but Worthington is batting .545 and Beach .429.
Behind Mullis among the players with a similar number of plate appearance, are Jackson Sayer (.365), Treyton Webster (.360), Alex Mason (.346) and Stone (.339).
Stone leads the team in extra base hits with six doubles, two triples and four homers.
Just behind Mullis’ and Stone’s team leading 17 RBI are Sayer (14), Mason (13) and Ethan Picanso (12). Picanso is batting .313, giving the Jackets eight starters/part-time starters batting over .300.
Hayden Turner is close to the .300 mark with a .286 average.
And, there are two players batting 1.000 — Mason Ragland has two hits in two at bats and Dylan Carelock is 1-for-1.
As a team, the Jackets are batting a respectable .337.
