Two from here take ‘Wrong Exit’
Two local men were among 54 suspects arrested in Twiggs County during St. Patrick’s Day weekend in “Operation Wrong Exit.”
Richard Williams of Uvalda and William Hall of Hazlehurst were arrested after they took an exit off I-16 and ran into a large number of law enforcement officers. Deputies were able to search their vehicle and discovered approximately five kilograms of methamphetamine.
Officers believe the two traveled to the Atlanta area for a resupply and were planning to return to the local area to sell their wares. Both men were charged with trafficking methamphetamine.
The investigation is ongoing.
Sheriff Preston Bohannan thanks Twiggs County Sheriff Darren Mitchum and his deputies for their efforts.
